Madison Symphony Orchestra: Hunt Quartet

The Hunt Quartet of the Madison Symphony Orchestra is excited to present this recital at the River Arts Center! The Hunt Quartet serves as the resident string quartet of the MSO's nationally-recognized Up Close and Musical® program, visiting elementary schools to introduce students to classical music. As teaching artists, the individual musicians visit classrooms to conduct exciting and interactive lessons that send students on a hunt for the concepts of melody, rhythm, expression, and form. The full string quartet then demonstrates these concepts in a mini concert for all classrooms.

This will be a standard concert from the quartet, featuring the following selections:

• String Quartet No. 4 in E minor, Op. 44, No. 2 - Felix Mendelssohn

• Lullaby for String Quartet - George Gershwin

• La Oración del Torero - Joaquín Turina
